1.
CANCUN
The arrival in Cancun offers to most travelers the possibility
to purchase an economical flight to Mexico (Charter).
We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to Playa del
Carmen. We will even make a reservation for you in a respectable
hotel that suits your budget. You can choose to stay in Playa
or go to Tulum when you wish to (More economical).
You will have many days in the area depending on the arrival
date of you flight. The departure to Belize will be Wednesday
from Playa de Carmen. But we will pick you up in Tulum if you
have chosen to stay there. .
2.
CAYE CAULKER ISLAND, BELIZE.
Belize is completely different from the rest of the Latin countries;
English is spoken exclusively throughout the area. Caye Caulker
is of an incredibly relax atmosphere, there are no cars on the
island, vehicles are made out of golf carts. The speed limit
signs proudly state GO SLOW.
We will spend 2 or 3 nights on the island. ãWe will recommend
a 3 hours snorkeling tour on a sailboat to the coral reef. There
is also a swim with the sharks on one of the snorkeling areas.
(Price of the tour 12.50$us).
3.
TIKAL, GUATEMALA
We
will arrive in Flores on the Petén Itzá lake Friday
afternoon. The island is very small but charming, it offers
a vast choice of accommodations and restaurants.
The next morning at dawn we will head over to the Tikal ruins
for sunrise. You will have all day to explore the vast Mayan
city. Return at your own discretion.
There is also a small but interesting zoo near Flores that can
be visited. It requires a 30 minutes canoe ride on the lake.
You can observe monkeys, jaguars and other animals in an almost
natural habitat. (Price: 4.00$ us).
4.
ANTIGUA, GUATEMALA
Antigua is the most ancient colonial city on America. Most of
the hotels reside in buildings more than 200 years old, some
very impressive and at very reasonable rates. We believe that
one day and a half is more than enough to visit the beauty of
the town.
There is also a famous expedition on an active volcano to those
who will want to. (Price approx.: 20$ us).
5.
PANAJACHEL, LAKE ATITLAN, GUATEMALA
The beauty of the landscape will amaze you; the view is breathtaking.
We will spend 3 days around this intriguing lake surrounded
by 3 volcanoes and 7 small villages. Time and technology seems
to have forgotten these people, most live in a most traditional
way. The rituals the clothes and the languages have not changed
in a hundred years. You can decide to climb one of the volcanoes,
passing through the San Pedro village. (40
min. boat ride)
You have two options: By foot or by Horse, you decide. You can
also choose to stay the night at the San Pedro village and come
back the next day. For the others the city of Panajachel offers
a great choice of restaurants and bars to party and enjoy the
nightlife.
6.
CHICHICASTENANGO MARKET
The most important market in Guatemala, there you will find
gifts and souvenirs for family and friends. You will find all
sorts of crafts at incredibly low prices. This trip is included
in the Funky Tours package and will be on Thursday.
7.
ZIPOLITE, MEXICO
On the beach again Life is not always a piece of cake.
But this time it s the Pacific coast. You will have crossed
3 countries and a whole continent from east to west.
Zipolite is a charming little beach town, very popular for the
travelers seeking peace and tranquility. Nudists are welcome
and the general atmosphere is very relaxed and open-minded.
These 4 days in Zipolite will go by faster than you can imagine.
Some of you might prefer to stay at the Mazunte beach, another
beach 5 km to the north.
There is a turtle conservation museum well worth seeing. It
hosts all kind of marine and land turtle species in a purpose
to help and preserve the endangered animals. (Price:
3.00 $ us).
There is also a Laguna that host crocodiles, iguanas and other
wild animals. Guides take you on a 30 minutes very interesting
canoe ride. (Price: 3.00$ us).
8.
OAXACA, OAXACA, MEXICOã
The city of Oaxaca is well known for its market. And it is worth
seeing. You will find the traditional clothes and a rich variety
of food from the 4 corners of the state. Many artisans come
from all over to offer their product, often at very reasonable
prices. The architecture has been preserved with great effort;
many churches and historical building are well worth visiting.
Most of them for free.
9.
PALENQUE, MEXICO
We will stay in a beautiful camping site in the jungle.
Hotel rooms are available and very cheap. The visit of the ruins
will be the next morning or Sunday if you wish to. (Free on
Sundays) A group diner will be proposed at the local restaurant
